Out and About
Set on the border of three counties – Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire – The Station House is ideally located for exploring this beautiful area of the South East England.
All the family will be entertained with a trip to Hollycombe Steam Collection, with its fully working Edwardian fairground and a ride on its railway with countryside views. Alternatively, get creative with the little ones at Happy Hands Pottery Painting or visit the largest Natural History Museum in central southern England, Haslemere Educational Museum – the perfect rainy day activities.
Lurgashall Winery & Blackdown Distillery is one just for the adults, where you can enjoy the unusual ‘white gold’ Silver Birch sap wine and spirits. For a longer adult only break, a trip to Champney’s Spa Forest Mere for an indulgent spa day or luxurious treatment is the perfect getaway.
Budding novelists can visit Jane Austen’s house in the Hampshire village of Chawton for some literary inspiration – the only house where Jane lived and wrote that is open to the public.
There’s not a finer trip to the great outdoors to be had than Hindhead Commons and the Devil’s Punch Bowl. You won’t be disappointed by the magnificent views and superb scenery that lies just 10 minutes from The Station House.
If you’re looking for something for the evening, Haslemere Hall is home to live theatre and music, cinema screenings and events to keep you entertained.
