If you’re a horse racing enthusiast or a petrolhead then Goodwood is the place for you.
Goodwood Racecourse is home to the world famous Glorious Goodwood meeting in late July and early August, which is one of the highlights of the flat racing season.
Owned by the family of the Duke of Richmond this fabulous course sits on top of the hills in a wonderful location with views to the coast.
Just down the road is Goodwood House, the seat of the Duke of Richmond. The 3rd Duke built the racecourse in 1802, the 7th Duke laid out the Golf Course and in 1948 commissioned a motor racing circuit to around an airstrip in front of the house.
Since 1993 Goodwood House has been home to the Festival of Speed and the Revival Meeting, two of the highlights of the motor sport calendar. Each year 150,000 people attend each event. The Festival of Speed sees Formula 1 cars, supercars, American muscle cars and more on display and burning their way up the hill climb.
The Revival Meeting sees some of the finest vintage cars in the world on display over the three day festival. Full of celebrities and celebrated racing drivers this is an event to dress up in your finery, grab a glass of champagne and enjoy some of the greatest motoring the world has to offer.
